I was reading my devotion this mornig and I was reminded (and surprised) to see how many times Christ's birth, and other events that surrounded his birth, were prophesied in the Old Testament. There is so much that came true! These things are not coincidences.
What God said would happen, came true.
So when the Bible tells us about all the things God will do for us, if we believe and follow him, we have no reason to think he will not do what he says. If His words are powerful enough to "tell us the future", then his promises are meaningful enough to keep.
"And just as the prophecies of the Old Testament came true in Christ, his prophecies and parables about the Kingdom of Heaven will come true for us."
Here are a couple of his promises:
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
~ Philippians 4:19
One of my favorites...
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
~ Jeremiah 29:11
Having faith can be difficult. Life in general can be difficult. That's why its not a race to the end, and rather a journey. To help, God has given us His Word. He wants us to read it, think about it, know it and do it!
Today I challenge you to pick one of the promises God gave us. Think about it, know it, and do it!
